🚌 Getting there
From Dengfeng: bus No. 8 from Dengfeng bus station (20 min, ¥2). From Zhengzhou: high-speed train to Dengfeng area via Songshan station, then taxi (40 km). From Luoyang: intercity bus from Luoyang Longmen station (1.5 h).
🙇 Etiquette & taboos for international visitors
- Dress modestly — cover shoulders and knees, especially inside halls.
- Do not step on door thresholds; step over them.
- Photography of monks without consent is considered impolite; ask first.
- Keep voice low inside worship halls; do not touch statues or offerings.
📷 Photography rules
Allowed in courtyards and outdoor areas. No flash or tripod inside halls. The Pagoda Forest allows photography, but treat each pagoda respectfully — do not climb or pose on them.
🌧 Rainy day / low season / holidays
Performance hall and halls are covered; the walk to Pagoda Forest (~15 min) is exposed — bring an umbrella. Rain thin crowds nicely for photography.
